Pearl Jam wasn’t going to let the coronavirus stop them from rocking Oakland Arena last night.

With drummer Matt Cameron out with COVID-19, the band recruited Josh Klinghoffer and Richard Stuverud to fill in behind the drum set.

It was the first time Cameron – also the drummer for Soundgarden – had missed a Pearl Jam gig since joining the band 24 years ago.

The band will play a second show in Oakland on Friday night before moving on to Fresno, Sacramento, and Las Vegas next week.
