Twenty-six years after Jersey Jack Pinball released its Guns N’ Roses-themed pinball machine, the company has produced a follow-up.
The new version, which the company says “captures the live experience of the group’s ‘Not in this Lifetime’ tour,” was co-designed by GN’R guitarist Slash, according to Jersey Jack’s Eric Meunier. “Slash went to Jack Guarnieri, the founder of the company, and said, ‘I want to make a game about the new tour,'” Meunier says. “So I hooked up with Slash and he just had idea after idea after idea on what he wanted to see in the game.”
The “collector machines,” of which only 500 were manufactured, come with a card signed by the members of the band and drumsticks autographed by drummer Frank Ferrer. They also feature 21 Guns N’ Roses songs, Meunier says.
In today’s age of high-tech video games, is there much of a demand for pinball machines?
