We’re all about the animals and helping them find their fur-ever home! Every week, we’ll be getting Pup Close with PK to feature a new adoptable animal!
Meet our big chonky Hound boy, Buford! Buford is a four-year-old Redbone Coonhound mix who came to the Kentucky Humane Society looking for a second chance at life.
This big dork weighs 75 lbs (peep that neck waddle) and enjoys sunbathing, sniffing through the great outdoors, eating (obviously) and howling in song. After all, he is a true hound dog at heart! Buford is an active guy. Buford has met other dogs here at KHS and seems to be more interested in the smells in the air rather than the sights. However, in the previous home he had been way too excited about the other dog so he will be going home as an only dog. True to that hound dog nature of his, Buford will bay and fixate at felines. A cat-free home would be ideal for this hefty man. Also, it is highly recommended that Buford not go home with children. If you do have kiddos and are still interested in Buford, you would need to speak to an adoptions team member about his history with children and be willing to introduce your children to Buford prior to adoption – that way everyone is on the same page, and we can see if your kids would be a suitable match. That being said, if you are looking for a dog specifically to bond with your kiddos, Buford is probably not the doggo for you. Buford does appear housetrained and loves sniffing out things like treats and friendship.
Could you be the one Buford has been dreaming of? Buford is neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations. Meet him today at the East Campus, 1000 Lyndon Lane or learn more at kyhumane.org/dogs
