Lindsey Buckingham says balancing Fleetwood Mac and a solo career was like walking a ‘schizophrenic tightrope’.

In an interview with Classic Rock magazine, Buckingham said being in Fleetwood Mac post-Rumours left him torn between the commercial demands of his band and his creative demands as a solo artist.

He said: “I had this sort of schizophrenic tightrope thing I was walking between the big machine and the small machine, if you will.

These days, Buckingham is no longer in Fleetwood Mac – he was booted from the band in 2018 – and released a new self-titled solo album last September.
