Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix is not ashamed of his nu-metal heritage.
In an interview with Metal Hammer, Shaddix owned up to his legacy – saying “I love being one of the forefathers of nu-metal, that’s ****ing dope”.
At the same time, he feels Papa Roach has “been able to outlive it” and prove that “there was so much more to our band than the nu-metal tag”.
Papa Roach is set to release a new greatest hits comp, Vol 2 – The Better Noise Years, later this month.
Why does nu-metal get so much hate these days? Will it ever become ‘cool’ again, kind of like what happened with 80’s hair metal?
